LivingSoiLL: promoting sustainable soil management practices
AREFLH is a partner of LivingSoiLL – “Healthy Soil to Permanent Crops Living Labs”, an Horizon Europe project funded by the European Commission.
This month, discover LivingSoiLL’s activities at the European Bioplastics touch base ase event. On 6 October 2026, Eriselda Canaj presented the project during event organised by European Bioplastics, which brought together representatives of Living Labs and Communities of Practice.
LivingSoiLL addresses the challenges of soil degradation, which is closely linked to agricultural intensification, by promoting sustainable soil management practices in permanent cropping systems.
The project is establishing five Living Labs in Portugal, France, Spain, Italy and Poland, focusing on vineyards, olive groves, chestnut and hazelnut groves, and apple orchards.
Through at least 50 demonstration sites and 10 lighthouses, the project aims to engage more than 2,000 local stakeholders in developing and testing solutions to improve soil health.
The touchbase event provided an opportunity to present the project’s objectives and foster knowledge exchange with representatives of Living Labs and Communities of Practice. Discover LivingSoiLL and the Community of Practice by watching the recording of the event.
