Lowinfood : rencontre en Allemagne

L'objectif de LOWINFOOD est de co-concevoir des chaînes de valeur pauvres en déchets  grâce à un portefeuille d'innovations.

Du 29 novembre au 1er décembre 2023, le projet a tenu son assemblée générale à Münster (Allemagne), à ​​l'Université des Sciences Appliquées FH Münster.

Le but de la réunion était de donner un aperçu des activités tenues au cours des trois années du projet et de planifier les activités à venir.

Day one

During the first day the meeting focused on the preparation of the second report to be sent to the EU Commission. In addition, presentation of the results of the questionaires on the evaluation of innovations and the collection of data from different stakeholders.

Several ways have been used to collect data on food waste and composition: interviews, surveys, data collected from innovations databased and companies, direct measurements. There were also expert consultations to fill incompleted information.

 

The second part of the first day was dedicated to two visits:  

  • The organic bakery “Cibaria” 
  • The cooking event with a professional chef and tasting of beer with a professor of sensory 

 

Day two  

The second day of the event was dedicated to the presentation of different innovations that fight waste of all kinds of foods , both for out-of-home and at-home consumption.

The innovations help reducing food waste consumption. This phase of the project involves the evaluations of the data collected since beginning of the project and involves the analysis of the efficiency measure and the socio -economic impact and the environmental impact of the innovations.  

 

The second part of the day was dedicated to communication and dissemination, to promote and to communicate the results achieved so far.

One session focussed on  preparing the fostering market replication and the deriving policy implications.  These activities are rooted in a deep analysis of the actual regulatory framework and in an active involvement of policy makers partners in the consortium, plus other national and European experts and institutions. This is necessary to validate the resulting set of the policy recommendations.
