LivingSoiLL

AREFLH is a partner of the EU project LivingSoiLL. Its motto is  “Healthy Soil to Permanent Crops Living Labs”. It is a new Horizon Europe project funded by the European Commission within the framework of the EU MISSION ‘A Soil Deal for Europe’. The Soil Mission aims to lead the transition to healthy soils via sustainable soil management. Indeed, the issue of healthy soils is at the heart of the European Green Deal and one of the main targets of the Mission Board.

This annual event convened stakeholders from across the soil ecosystem, including researchers, policymakers, farmers, foresters, spatial planners, landowners, businesses, and the general public. The aim was to discuss pressing challenges, explore new opportunities, and develop actionable solutions to protect and restore Europe’s soils.

The LivingSoiLL mission aligned with the objectives of the Soil Week, and we were pleased to engage with fellow participants to share our insights and initiatives in sustainable soil management. Together, we contributed to shaping policies and practices that prioritize soil health, ensuring a resilient future for agriculture and ecosystems.

LivingSoiLL invited its community and all interested stakeholders to participate in the European Mission Soil Week, either in person or via livestream. This was a unique opportunity to help shape the future of soil health in Europe.
