  • Regular news regarding the F&V CMO, eligible actions in different countries and proposals of actions  for common and secure plans;
  • Support to POs / APO’s on specific issues within the framework of the CMO, and assistance in the creation of  partnerships between professional organisations;
  • Management and animation of production and market observatories (peaches and nectarines, pears, melons, strawberries);
  • Animation of the European Interprofessional Commission on Chestnuts;
  • Co-organization of European events;
  • Research of European programmes on unifying themes.

moulon caselli 1 500pxOn the 27th of March 2019, the annual meeting of AREFLH, the association of European fruit and vegetable regions and producers, was held in Bordeaux, at the headquarters of the Nouvelle Aquitaine region. This year's meeting, coinciding with the end of the mandate of the Regional Minister of the Emilia Romagna Region, which began in 2016, had the objective of renewing all mandates, from the Presidency to the Board of Directors, for a new three-year term.

AREFLH and AREPO join forces to reaffirm the key role of European regions in CAP implementation and rebuff disproportionate budget cuts

On the 12th of July, AREFLH (Assembly of European Horticultural Regions) organised a meeting of its College of Regions, which was also attended by AREPO (Association of European Regions for Products of Origin) representatives, with the objective of defining a common position vis-à-vis the European Commission’s legislative proposals on the future of the CAP post 2020 and the multiannual financial framework (MFF) for the 2021-2027 period.

WORKING GROUPS AND COMMISSIONS

 

They propose to the Board of Directors and to the Bureau working lines and position papers to be defended in Brussels.

 

aop 1 rondThe CMO expert group:

It is composed of members from both Colleges. This group monitors the CMO reform in order to propose amendments for a more attractive and operational CMO. Experts also assess measures of operational programmes, in particular environmental and crisis management measures, and they suggest improvements.

 

The Promotion Commission :

It encourages the exchange of information, experiences and best practices between regions on F&V communication programmes and healthy eating education (cf. AREFLH Regio'Com guide). This committee also defends a strong and continuous communication and promotion policy to the main European bodies through an effective lobbying action.

The Task Force on research and innovation :

The AREFLH, in partnership with Freshfel and EUFRIN, has set up a European Task Force dedicated to research and innovation specifically for the fruit and vegetable sector. Created in 2014, this group has developed a strategic agenda highlighting the sector's R & D priorities (SIRA) that was presented to the European Commission. It also initiated the creation of the European Vegetable Research Institutes

The Committee of Directors of Associations of Producer Organisations :

It is composed of APO directors from all member regions of AREFLH. It regularly gathers to analyse the progress of the main issues handled by the College of Producers. The group also exchanges information on specific topics in relation to their own structures.
