The main exporter countries are the ones which export approximately 70 % of their production: New Zealand exports 90 % of its production, Chile 95 %, Italy approximately 70 %, Greece 50 % and France around 35-40 %.

In Portugal, Korea and Japan, the supply is essentially managed on the internal market. It is also the case of Spain even if the country exports around 300-400 tons / year, that is 30 % of its production. In the United States, California intends 30 % of its production for the export. Finally, Iran would have exported in 2005 around 23 000 tons towards the Middle East and the Eastern Europe (including Russia), so showing a clear trend to the development of its exported volumes.
